General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Overview

• General Nursing Midwifery will enhance individual skills in nursing care including practice of nursing within the framework of ethical code of conduct as per professional standards. It teaches individuals about behavioural science, community health nursing, and about nursing foundation etc.
• On completion of GNM course, one have to register themselves in State Nursing Registration Council as a Registered Nurses and Midwives, which will enable them to get much easier access to various job opprotunities both in Government and Private sectors. They can work as a Staff Nurse, Home Nurse, Health Visitor & Community Health Worker. They can also opt for higher education or pursue careers in related field to gain access to diverse job profiles.

Eligibility

• The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board. The student shall be medically fit. The upper limit of the age is 35 years.
