Fellowship Program in Forensic Psychiatry

1. Must have completed the requirements of an ACGME-accredited General Psychiatry Residency by the start of the fellowship.
2. Must hold a full Massachusetts medical license by the fellowship start date.
3. Must meet the UMass Chan Graduate Medical Education (GME) eligibility requirements.
4. J-1 visa sponsorship is available; H-1B sponsorship may also be possible.

The Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at UMass Chan Medical School is a one-year, full-time ACGME-accredited post-residency fellowship providing comprehensive training in forensic psychiatry, mental health law, forensic evaluation, and courtroom practice. Fellows gain supervised experience in criminal and civil forensic evaluations, risk assessments, report writing, expert testimony, and treatment of individuals involved with the criminal justice system. The program also includes structured seminars, legal case-law training, research and scholarly activities, and clinical rotations at forensic facilities and court clinics.
