• Have successfully completed a residency program.
• Be board eligible in one of the following specialties:
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Family Medicine
• Emergency Medicine
• Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Hold a valid medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent; MBBS or equivalent for international graduates).
• Have clinical interest and experience in the management of complex wounds and tissue repair.
• Meet institutional requirements for fellowship appointment and clinical practice.

The Fellowship in Wound Care & Tissue Repair at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is a one-year clinical fellowship designed to provide advanced training in the evaluation, treatment, and management of complex, chronic, and non-healing wounds. The program offers multidisciplinary training through exposure to vascular surgery, plastic surgery, general surgery, infectious disease, dermatology, orthopedics, rheumatology, physical therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and wound nursing. Fellows gain hands-on experience in wound assessment, diabetic foot wounds, vascular and pressure wounds, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, tissue repair techniques, and advanced wound healing therapies, preparing them to provide comprehensive care for patients with challenging wound conditions.
