The Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 2-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to train specialists in the medical, endovascular, and open surgical management of vascular disease. Fellows gain extensive experience in aortic disease, aneurysms, carotid stenosis, peripheral arterial disease, traumatic vascular injuries, dialysis access, venous disease, and thoracic aortic pathology, with a balanced mix of open and endovascular procedures. Training is provided across multiple hospitals and includes noninvasive vascular testing, multidisciplinary conferences, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal clubs, vascular surgery didactics, and pulsatile cadaver laboratory training. Fellows are expected to complete more than 750 operative cases and also have opportunities for clinical research and scholarly activity.
