Fellowship in Uveitis

The Uveitis Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is an advanced ophthalmology subspecialty training program focused on the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of ocular inflammatory diseases. The fellowship provides specialized training in the care of patients with various forms of uveitis, including anterior, intermediate, posterior, and panuveitis, as well as infectious and immune-mediated inflammatory eye conditions. Fellows gain extensive clinical experience in advanced ophthalmic examination techniques, ocular imaging, immunomodulatory therapies, infectious disease evaluation, and management of complications related to ocular inflammation. The program also emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration with specialties such as rheumatology and infectious disease, along with opportunities for clinical research, teaching, and academic development. The fellowship prepares ophthalmologists for expert practice in uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease management and for careers in academic ophthalmology.
