Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology

1. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent medical degree from a qualifying medical school.
2. Candidates should have completed an Internal Medicine residency.
3. Candidates must have completed an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship before entering Transplant Hepatology fellowship training.
4. Candidates must meet Cedars-Sinai's institutional eligibility requirements for fellowship training. Medical graduates outside the United States and Canada must have graduated from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and must have current Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification or applicable United States medical licensure.
5. Candidates should have an academic and clinical interest in advanced liver disease and liver transplantation.
6. Candidates must meet applicable California medical licensing and credentialing requirements before beginning clinical training.

The Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides advanced clinical training in the evaluation and management of patients with complex liver diseases and those undergoing liver transplantation. Fellows gain experience in pre-transplant assessment, post-transplant care, management of transplant-related complications, advanced liver disease, and multidisciplinary patient care. The program also provides opportunities for clinical research and academic activities within Cedars-Sinai’s liver transplantation and hepatology programs, preparing fellows for specialized practice in transplant hepatology.

1. Complete the required Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training.
2. Prepare the required application materials, including curriculum vitae, personal statement, medical school records, examination documentation, and letters of recommendation.
