Fellowship in Surgical Pathology

1. Must have completed at least 3 years of straight Anatomic Pathology (AP) training or 4 years of combined Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) training by the time the fellowship begins.
2. Must obtain a California medical license.
3. International Medical Graduates must provide an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
4. International applicants must provide a Postgraduate Authorization Training Letter from the Medical Board of California.
5. Applicants who are not United States citizens must provide a copy of their green card or work permit, as applicable.

The Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides one year of advanced training in diagnostic surgical pathology. Fellows work with residents and faculty in reviewing and interpreting surgical pathology specimens and gain experience in intraoperative frozen sections and referred cases. The program offers exposure to a broad range of subspecialties, including gastrointestinal, gynecologic, dermatopathology, hematopathology, neuropathology, cytopathology, electron microscopy, and molecular pathology. Fellows also participate in clinical and research conferences and may pursue research activities during the fellowship.

4. Provide 3 letters of recommendation.
5. Provide a copy of your California medical license.
6. Submit a copy of your medical school diploma.
7. A photograph may be included but is optional.
8. Foreign applicants should additionally submit the required ECFMG certificate and Postgraduate Authorization Training Letter from the Medical Board of California.
