The Vascular Neurology (Stroke) Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is an ACGME-accredited advanced training program designed to develop expertise in the comprehensive management of cerebrovascular diseases. The fellowship is based within NYU Langone's Comprehensive Stroke Center, one of the leading stroke programs in the United States, recognized for excellence in acute stroke care, neurovascular intervention, research, and education. Fellows receive extensive training across multiple NYU-affiliated hospitals, including Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. Clinical experience encompasses acute stroke response, telestroke services, neurovascular intensive care, stroke prevention clinics, inpatient consultation services, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation planning. Fellows gain expertise in thrombolytic therapy, mechanical thrombectomy evaluation, neuroimaging interpretation, cerebrovascular ultrasound, vascular risk assessment, and secondary stroke prevention. The curriculum includes structured didactic conferences, journal clubs, multidisciplinary stroke conferences, quality improvement projects, and research activities. Fellows collaborate closely with neurointerventionalists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neurocritical care specialists, emergency physicians, and rehabilitation teams. The program also emphasizes leadership development, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based stroke management. Graduates are exceptionally prepared for careers in academic vascular neurology, comprehensive stroke centers, clinical research, hospital leadership, and advanced cerebrovascular care.
