Fellowship in Spine Surgery

1. Completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery residency.
2. Eligibility to obtain a California medical license before starting the fellowship.
3. Four letters of recommendation are required under the general UCLA Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship application policy.

The UCLA Spine Surgery Fellowship provides clinical and research training in spinal disorders. Fellows gain experience with cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine surgery, spinal instrumentation, intraoperative navigation, spinal tumors, deformities, trauma, and degenerative conditions. Training also includes multidisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialists, teaching, and research. One fellow is accepted each year.

1. Apply through the San Francisco Match (SF Match) program.
2. Submit the universal application and a photograph.
3. Complete an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency.
4. Provide four letters of recommendation, including one from the residency program chief, according to UCLA's general fellowship application policy.
5. Be eligible for a California medical license before starting the fellowship.
