Fellowship in Spine Surgery

1. Completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency
2. Board-eligible or board-certified orthopedic surgeon
3. Ability to obtain an Arizona State Medical License before fellowship begins
4. Interest in spine surgery and academic participation
5. Meet institutional and hospital credentialing requirements.

The Spine Fellowship at The CORE Institute is a comprehensive advanced orthopedic training program designed to provide in-depth exposure to the diagnosis and management of spinal disorders. The fellowship is structured to develop expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment approaches for spine conditions. Fellows work alongside experienced spine surgeons who specialize in complex spinal procedures and advanced minimally invasive techniques. The program offers high-volume clinical and operative experience involving degenerative spinal diseases, deformities, fractures, and tumors. Training includes exposure to cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries using anterior, lateral, and posterior surgical approaches. Fellows actively participate in academic activities such as spine conferences, journal clubs, and research programs. Access to advanced research infrastructure including biomechanics and motion analysis laboratories further strengthens the academic environment. The fellowship also provides elective time to focus on specialized areas within spine surgery, helping fellows refine their expertise and prepare for leadership roles in orthopedic spine practice.
