Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow

1. Completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency in the United States or Canada
2. Board-eligible or board-certified orthopedic surgeon
3. Eligible to obtain an Arizona State Medical License before program start
4. Participation in research and academic activities during the fellowship
5. Meet institutional and hospital credentialing requirements.

The Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at The CORE Institute is a highly specialized orthopedic training program developed in collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow conditions and surgical procedures. Fellows work with a team of experienced faculty from both academic and clinical backgrounds, gaining exposure to diverse surgical approaches and treatment philosophies. The program offers a high volume of operative cases including primary and revision shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgery, elbow arthroscopy, and trauma management. Training takes place at major medical centers including Level-1 trauma facilities, ensuring broad clinical experience. Fellows also participate in structured academic activities such as case discussions, lectures, and journal clubs. Dedicated research time is provided, and fellows are required to complete research manuscripts during the fellowship year. The program is designed to develop advanced surgical skills and prepare fellows for leadership roles in orthopedic surgery practice and academic medicine.
