Fellowship in Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine

1. Must have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited residency.
2. Must hold a valid California State Medical License.
3. Must hold a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
4. Must provide a United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) transcript.
5. Must submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
6. Must provide two letters of recommendation.
7. Must complete and submit the fellowship Common Application.

The Regional and Acute Pain Management Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides advanced training in regional anesthesia and acute pain management. Fellows gain hands-on experience in peripheral nerve blocks, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, local anesthetic pharmacology and toxicity, and perioperative pain management. The program includes collaboration with surgical and multidisciplinary teams and provides exposure to regional techniques used as primary anesthesia or alongside other anesthetic approaches. Fellows also participate in clinical research and are encouraged to present or publish their work.

1. Complete the Common Application for the Regional and Acute Pain Management Fellowship.
2. Prepare and submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Submit two letters of recommendation.
4. Submit a copy of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) transcript.
5. Provide evidence of completion of an ACGME-accredited residency.
6. Provide a valid California State Medical License and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
7. Submit the complete application to Tiffany Cao, Regional and Acute Pain Management Fellowship Coordinator, by email or mail.
8. Applications are accepted until the fellowship position is filled. For the 2026–2027 academic year, applications began in January 2025
