The Fellowship in Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine is a one-year advanced postgraduate fellowship program designed to provide specialized training in regional anesthesia techniques and acute pain management. The program focuses on developing expertise in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, peripheral nerve blocks, neuraxial anesthesia, thoracic epidurals, and comprehensive acute pain care. Fellows gain hands-on clinical experience through regional anesthesia services, acute pain services, and hospital rotations with exposure to complex surgical, pediatric, and perioperative pain management cases. The curriculum includes educational activities such as case discussions, journal clubs, grand rounds, workshops, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives, preparing fellows for advanced clinical practice, teaching, and leadership roles in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine.
