Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia

The Regional Anesthesia Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco is a 1-year ACGME-accredited advanced training program focused on developing expertise in perioperative pain management and regional anesthetic techniques. The fellowship provides extensive hands-on clinical training in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks, neuraxial techniques, and acute pain management services. Fellows rotate through multiple UCSF-affiliated clinical sites, gaining experience in regional anesthesia procedures, acute pain consultation, and multimodal opioid-sparing analgesia strategies. The program includes dedicated rotations in Regional Anesthesia, Acute Pain Service, Chronic Pain exposure, and Research/Quality Improvement activities, along with opportunities for teaching medical students and anesthesiology residents and participating in academic conferences. The fellowship prepares graduates to independently establish and manage regional anesthesia and acute pain services in academic and private practice settings.
