Fellowship in Pediatric Urology

1. Must have graduated from an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada-accredited Urology Residency Program.
2. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to participate in the American Urological Association (AUA) / Society for Pediatric Urology (SPU) Pediatric Urology Fellowship Match.
3. Selection is based on the application, curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation, personal statement, residency performance, and interview.

The Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, is a two-year advanced training program focused on the comprehensive surgical and medical management of pediatric urologic conditions. Fellows receive extensive clinical and operative experience at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, including open, laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic procedures. Training covers congenital urologic conditions, hypospadias, bladder dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, disorders of sex development, pediatric urologic oncology, and complex reconstructive surgery. The program also provides opportunities for research, quality improvement, teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

1. Register for the official Pediatric Urology Fellowship Match Program, administered by the Society for Pediatric Urology in conjunction with the American Urological Association.
2. Complete the required Universal Application.
3. Submit a current curriculum vitae.
4. Submit three letters of recommendation, preferably two from pediatric urologists and one from the applicant's residency program director.
5. Submit a personal statement.
6. Once the application is complete, selected applicants are contacted to arrange an interview.
7. Interviews are conducted during the spring.
8. The program participates in the American Urological Association / Society for Pediatric Urology Match, through which fellowship positions are filled.
