The Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine provides advanced training in the diagnosis and management of brain and spinal cord tumors in children and adolescents. Fellows gain experience through pediatric neuro-oncology clinics, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary brain tumor conferences, clinical trials, and collaboration with specialists in neurosurgery, neuroradiology, radiation oncology, neuropathology, neurology, neuropsychology, palliative care, and survivorship. The program also provides opportunities for clinical and translational research, allowing fellows to develop expertise in comprehensive pediatric neuro-oncology care and academic research.
