Fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine

The Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship program designed to train well-rounded pediatric hospitalists with advanced skills in inpatient pediatric care, clinical education, research, and quality improvement. The program provides fellows with diverse clinical experiences across SUNY Downstate, NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, Maimonides Medical Center, and affiliated hospitals. Training includes pediatric inpatient care, emergency medicine, newborn care, complex care, scholarship activities, research methodology, and teaching opportunities with medical students and residents. The fellowship curriculum emphasizes evidence-based clinical practice, leadership development, quality improvement, and academic growth, preparing graduates for careers in pediatric hospital medicine in both academic and community healthcare settings.
