The Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine offers specialized training in the comprehensive care of children with advanced heart failure and those undergoing heart transplantation. Fellows gain experience in the use of ventricular assist devices, extracorporeal life support, transplant evaluation, and long-term post-transplant management. The curriculum emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based care, and participation in research and quality improvement initiatives. Training at a high-volume pediatric cardiac center provides exposure to complex congenital and acquired heart disease. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for leadership roles in pediatric advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.
