Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship providing comprehensive clinical, procedural, and research training in pediatric gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional disorders. The first year focuses on inpatient and outpatient clinical training, with extensive exposure to GI, hepatology, nutrition, pancreatic, liver-transplant, and complex gastrointestinal conditions. Fellows develop proficiency in procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, liver biopsy, ERCP, pH/impedance testing, and feeding-tube placement. The second and third years are primarily devoted to clinical, translational, or basic research, with approximately 80% protected research time, while fellows continue continuity clinic and limited inpatient rotations. The program also emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, teaching, research ethics, biostatistics, and academic career development.

3. Submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
4. Submit a 1–2 page Personal Statement explaining the reason for choosing Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition and career plans
5. Submit 2–4 Letters of Recommendation
6. At least one letter must be from the applicant's Residency Program Director
7. Submit USMLE/ECFMG scores
8. Submit a wallet-sized photograph
9. Applications for the 2027 ERAS cycle may be submitted from July 1, 2026
10. The program may begin reviewing applications from July 15, 2026
11. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews
12. Interviews are scheduled during August and September
13. Participate in the NRMP Fall Match
