Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

• Must have an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
• Must have completed a Pediatrics Residency Program (ACGME-accredited or equivalent)
• Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatrics (typical requirement for pediatric subspecialty fellowships)
• Must meet U.S. medical licensure requirements for fellowship training
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have ECFMG certification (if applicable)
• Must fulfill visa requirements for clinical training in the United States
• Should demonstrate strong interest in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition, and research

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited subspecialty training program designed to develop expertise in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The program is based at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, a leading pediatric academic hospital that offers exposure to a wide range of complex and rare conditions. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical training through inpatient and outpatient care, while also engaging in multidisciplinary collaboration with specialists in surgery, radiology, pathology, and nutrition.

In addition to strong clinical exposure, the fellowship emphasizes research training, allowing fellows to participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research projects under expert mentorship. The curriculum is structured to prepare fellows for careers in academic medicine, advanced clinical practice, and independent research in pediatric gastroenterology
