Fellowship in Pediatric Epilepsy

1. Must have completed the required Neurology or Child Neurology residency training before entering the fellowship.
2. Must meet the eligibility requirements for an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited fellowship.
3. Candidates should have appropriate training and clinical experience in the evaluation and management of pediatric neurological disorders.
4. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in pediatric epilepsy and epileptology.
5. Candidates should be eligible for clinical practice and fellowship training at Stanford University Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

The Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Program provides comprehensive training in the evaluation and management of epilepsy in children, with clinical exposure to electroencephalography, epilepsy monitoring, presurgical evaluation, epilepsy surgery, neuromodulation, dietary therapy, and genetic and developmental epileptic encephalopathies. Fellows also gain experience in specialized epilepsy clinics, inpatient and outpatient care, clinical research, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary management, preparing them for advanced clinical and academic careers in pediatric epileptology.

1. Submit the application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. The program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for fellowship positions.
3. Applications become available for program review in December, marking the beginning of the interview season.
4. Interviews are conducted virtually from January through March.
5. Applicants participate in the Epilepsy Fellowship Match through the National Resident Matching Program.
6. The program has two fellowship positions available per year.
