Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care

The three-year Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship combines intensive clinical training with protected research experience to prepare fellows for careers as pediatric intensivists and academic physicians. Fellows receive extensive experience in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, caring for children with complex and life-threatening conditions, including respiratory failure, shock, trauma, surgical conditions, and multisystem illness. Training also includes anesthesia, pulmonary, palliative care, cardiology, deep sedation, critical care transport, point-of-care ultrasound, simulation, quality improvement, teaching, and clinical or translational research.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the ERAS Common Application Form.
3. Submit three letters of recommendation, including one from the Department Chair or Residency Director.
4. Submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Steps 1, 2, and 3 scores, or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) Levels 1, 2, and 3 scores.
5. Submit a personal statement, curriculum vitae, and medical school transcript.
6. Sign the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Applicant Agreement.
7. Selected applicants participate in the program's virtual interview process, generally conducted from late August through mid-October.
