The Pediatric Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine offers highly specialized training in the surgical treatment of congenital heart disease. Fellows gain extensive operative experience in neonatal and pediatric cardiac surgery, including complex repairs and reconstructive procedures. The curriculum emphasizes perioperative management, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based surgical care. Fellows work closely with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac intensivists, anesthesiologists, and perfusion teams while participating in research and educational activities. Training at a nationally recognized children’s hospital provides exposure to a broad spectrum of congenital cardiac conditions. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for leadership roles in academic congenital cardiac surgery and advanced clinical practice.
