Overview

    1. The Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is an ACGME‑accredited subspecialty training program designed to prepare physicians for advanced clinical practice in pediatric anesthesia. Training is delivered at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, the state’s primary free‑standing children’s facility, exposing fellows to a wide range of pediatric surgical subspecialties and complex perioperative care needs. Fellows gain expertise in anesthetic techniques and monitoring tailored to infants, children, and adolescents, as well as specialized pain management and regional anesthesia with ultrasound guidance.
    2. The curriculum emphasizes multidisciplinary coordination with pediatric surgery, critical care, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging, along with didactic lectures and academic activities that reinforce clinical decision‑making. Fellows are encouraged to participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, fostering professional growth and scholarly competence. With hands‑on experience across diverse case types — including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and outpatient procedures — the fellowship equips graduates to lead pediatric anesthesia services in academic or clinical practice settings successfully.
