Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia

The Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship providing comprehensive training in the anesthetic care of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. Fellows gain experience in routine and complex pediatric anesthesia, including neonatal emergencies, congenital heart disease, solid-organ transplantation, neurosurgery, craniofacial reconstruction, scoliosis surgery, and procedures outside the operating room. Training also emphasizes pediatric airway management, vascular access, regional anesthesia, perioperative pain management, mechanical ventilation, fluid and temperature management, and care of critically ill pediatric patients.

1. Apply through the SF Match Centralized Application Service (CAS) for Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowships.
2. Complete the Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship application through SF Match.
3. Submit three letters of recommendation through SF Match.
4. Submit the required program distribution list.
5. Complete SF Match registration and applicable fees.
6. The fellowship selection committee reviews eligible applicants and selects candidates based on their qualifications and suitability for the program.
7. Final placement is completed through the SF Match Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship Match.
