Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia

1. MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
2. Completion of an Anesthesiology Residency before starting the fellowship.
3. Must meet Cedars-Sinai's institutional fellowship eligibility requirements.
4. Must satisfy applicable California medical licensure requirements.
5. International Medical Graduates must meet applicable ECFMG certification and U.S. licensing requirements.
6. Must submit the required fellowship application and supporting documents.

The Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a 1-year advanced fellowship focused on the anesthetic management of pregnant and peripartum patients, including high-risk obstetric cases. Training includes labor and delivery anesthesia, regional and general anesthesia, obstetric hemorrhage management, maternal-fetal medicine, neonatal intensive care, and multidisciplinary management of complex maternal conditions. The program also provides dedicated time for research and scholarly activities, along with teaching and supervision of anesthesiology residents.

1. Complete an Anesthesiology Residency.
2. Prepare the fellowship application, CV and required supporting documents.
3. Submit the application through the program's designated application process.
4. Applications are reviewed by the fellowship selection committee.
5. Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview.
6. Selected candidates complete California licensure, credentialing and Cedars-Sinai GME requirements.
7. After completing all requirements, begin the 12-month Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship.
