Fellowship in Neuromodulation Medicine

The Neuromodulation Medicine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 1-year multidisciplinary subspecialty fellowship involving the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation Medicine. The program trains physicians to evaluate and manage neuromodulation-amenable disorders using specialized techniques across different medical specialties. Fellows rotate through the participating disciplines and receive clinical exposure to electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine treatment, and deep brain stimulation (DBS). The fellowship also emphasizes research and scholarly activity, including participation in neuromodulation research laboratories and completion of a supervised scholarly project.

1. Submit a formal letter expressing personal interest in the Neuromodulation Medicine Fellowship.
2. Submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Submit 3 letters of reference from the applicant’s training program.
4. Complete the Neuromodulation Medicine Fellowship application.
5. Application materials and inquiries are submitted to the fellowship administration.
6. Applications are reviewed by the primary and specialty program directors and faculty based on the applicant’s qualifications, CV, and recommendation letters.
7. Selected candidates are offered admission based on the program’s selection process.
