Fellowship in Neuro Ophthalmology

The Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year AUPO FCC-compliant fellowship jointly offered by the Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology. Fellows receive comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of neuro-ophthalmic disorders through outpatient clinical practice at the UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center. The program provides exposure to both neurology- and ophthalmology-based approaches, with opportunities for rotations in neuroimmunology, uveitis, and headache. Ophthalmology-trained fellows can develop skills in procedures such as optic nerve sheath fenestration, temporal artery biopsy, botulinum toxin injections, and lumbar puncture, as well as exposure to strabismus, orbital, and skull-base surgery. Neurology-trained fellows receive opportunities for surgical observation and continued procedural training. The fellowship also emphasizes clinical care, teaching, research, and scholarly development.

2. Submit the fellowship application through SF Match
3. Direct the required application materials to the University of Colorado Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship Program
4. Ensure all residency, board eligibility/certification, credentialing, and Colorado medical licensing requirements are met
5. The program reviews applications and selects candidates for the fellowship
6. The fellowship uses SF Match for positions beginning July 2024 and beyond
7. For the 2027–28 fellowship position, applications began being accepted in June 2026 through SF Match
