The Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is an advanced subspecialty training program offered through the Department of Neurology and the Judith Jaffe Multiple Sclerosis Center. The fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive clinical and academic training in multiple sclerosis and related neuroimmunological disorders. Fellows gain extensive experience evaluating and managing patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, primary progressive multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), autoimmune encephalitis, and other inflammatory neurological disorders. Training includes exposure to cutting-edge disease-modifying therapies, infusion treatments, neuroimaging interpretation, neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation approaches. Fellows work closely with neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, and nursing teams in a collaborative care environment. The curriculum incorporates structured didactics, neuroimmunology conferences, journal clubs, case discussions, and research mentorship. Fellows are encouraged to participate in clinical trials, translational research, and scholarly activities through NYU Langone's nationally recognized MS research programs. The fellowship emphasizes evidence-based patient care, emerging therapeutic innovations, and personalized treatment strategies. Graduates are well prepared for careers in academic neuroimmunology, specialized MS centers, clinical research, and advanced neurological practice.
