Fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology

1. Completion of all required clinical education in an ACGME-accredited residency, AOA-approved residency, ACGME-I Advanced Specialty Accreditation program, or qualifying RCPSC/CFPC-accredited Canadian residency is required
2. Successful completion and passing of the required USMLE Steps
3. IMG applicants must have ECFMG certification

The one-year Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship provides comprehensive training in molecular pathology through rotations at the Colorado Molecular Correlates Laboratory and Precision Diagnostics Laboratory at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Training covers solid tumor molecular oncology, molecular hematopathology, inherited disease testing, genomic analysis, pharmacogenomics, mitochondrial and biochemical genetics, molecular microbiology, cytogenetics, and outpatient genetics. Fellows also participate in laboratory management, journal clubs, didactic teaching, and validation of at least one clinical test during the fellowship.

1. The fellowship participates in the NRMP matching system
2. For the 2028–29 fellowship year, applications are accepted from September 1, 2026, through January 1, 2027
