Fellowship in Microsurgery

1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
2. UCSF does not sponsor visas for international applicants, including Canadian applicants without a valid U.S. Permanent Resident Card
3. Must qualify for a full, unrestricted California medical license
4. Must have completed a Plastic Surgery Residency Program

The Microsurgery Fellowship Program at UCSF School of Medicine provides comprehensive advanced training in microsurgical reconstruction, with opportunities for fellows to tailor their clinical experience according to their interests. Training includes microsurgical breast reconstruction, transgender surgery, orthopedic oncology and trauma reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, and upper-extremity nerve surgery. Fellows participate in at least 120 free-flap procedures, attend microsurgical cases, provide clinical care, participate in resident education, and gain attending-level call experience. The fellowship runs from August through July and also provides opportunities for academic and professional development.
