Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at Keck School of Medicine of USC is a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to prepare fellows for independent practice as Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultants. Training is based at Los Angeles General Medical Center, a major referral center for high-risk pregnancies, with extensive exposure to maternal medical conditions, obstetrical complications, fetal disorders, prenatal diagnosis, fetal echocardiography, genetics, fetal surgery, and high-risk family planning. The curriculum includes 12 months of clinical MFM, 12 months of research, 2 months of labor and delivery supervision, 1 month of critical care, and 9 months of electives/research. Fellows also receive training in research methodology and biostatistics and participate in weekly didactic conferences, simulations, journal clubs, and multidisciplinary conferences.

1. Apply through Thalamus using the online fellowship application.
2. Register with the NRMP to participate in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Match.
3. Submit all required application materials through Thalamus by the applicable deadline.
4. Applicants who meet the requirements are reviewed by the program.
5. Selected candidates are invited for interviews with the Program Director, division faculty, and current fellows.
6. Final selection is made by the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
7. Successful candidates enter through the NRMP Match.
8. After acceptance, candidates must prepare and submit their ABOG Maternal-Fetal Medicine certification application for Board approval 90 days before fellowship training begins.
