The Hematopathology Fellowship is funded at the PGY-5 level, with stipend and benefits provided according to the USC GME compensation structure.

The Hematopathology Fellowship provides intensive training in the diagnosis of hematologic diseases through bone marrow and lymph node specimen interpretation, laboratory hematology, flow cytometric immunophenotyping, molecular hematopathology, morphology, immunohistochemistry, cytogenetics and ancillary diagnostic techniques. Fellows rotate for four months each at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Los Angeles General Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, gaining exposure to adult and pediatric hematopathology, including a dedicated pediatric hematopathology and flow-cytometry measurable residual disease experience. Fellows also participate in research, teaching, laboratory administration and scholarly activities.
