Fellowship in Gynecological Oncology

The three-year Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides advanced training in the comprehensive management of gynecologic cancers, with an emphasis on developing expertise in gynecologic oncology surgery, clinical care, research, and academic medicine. Fellows gain hands-on experience in open, minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques and participate as primary or co-surgeons in complex procedures. Training also includes outpatient oncology clinics, chemotherapy management, treatment of complications and side effects, and multidisciplinary conferences such as tumor boards, pathology conferences, and preoperative discussions. Clinical training is conducted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, providing exposure to a broad range of gynecologic oncology cases and multidisciplinary cancer care.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the ERAS application, curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation, an additional letter from the residency program director, medical school diploma or transcript, Medical Student Performance Evaluation, personal statement, photograph, and United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) score.
3. International medical graduates should submit the required Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) documentation where applicable.
4. Submit Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) score results directly to the fellowship program.
5. Register for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and meet American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology eligibility requirements.
6. Eligible applicants are reviewed and selected for interviews by the fellowship program.
7. Selected candidates complete Cedars-Sinai credentialing, licensing, and Graduate Medical Education onboarding before starting the fellowship.
