The Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is an advanced subspecialty training program designed to develop expert physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. The program provides comprehensive clinical training in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and related subspecialty areas including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal oncology, nutrition, neurogastroenterology, and therapeutic endoscopy. Fellows receive training through inpatient gastroenterology consult services, hepatology services, outpatient specialty clinics, and endoscopic procedures. The fellowship also emphasizes clinical research, translational research, teaching skills, and academic development through mentorship and dedicated research opportunities, preparing fellows for careers as academic clinicians, educators, and physician-scientists
