Fellowship in Female Urology, Voiding Dysfunction and Urogenital Reconstruction

The Fellowship in Female Urology, Voiding Dysfunction and Urogenital Reconstruction at UC Irvine School of Medicine is an advanced clinical fellowship focused on specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex lower urinary tract disorders, female urologic conditions, and reconstructive urology. The program follows Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) guidelines and provides comprehensive training in urodynamic evaluation, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, pelvic floor disorders, and genitourinary reconstruction. Fellows gain hands-on experience in advanced diagnostic and surgical management, including urodynamic testing, urethral reconstruction, ureteral reconstruction, urinary diversion, fistula repair, pelvic floor dysfunction management, and treatment of complex urinary disorders. The fellowship also includes research activities, clinical outcome studies, journal clubs, academic conferences, and multidisciplinary collaboration, preparing graduates for advanced practice and leadership roles in female urology and reconstructive urologic surgery.
