The Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellowship at UAB Heersink School of Medicine is a one-year, Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST)-accredited program offering comprehensive subspecialty training in endovascular neurosurgery. Fellows gain experience in more than 1,000 neurointerventional cases annually, including diagnostic angiography, coiling and embolization, stenting, and advanced neurovascular procedures. Training includes adult endovascular and cerebrovascular services, emergency call, clinical patient management, and exposure to pediatric neurointerventional care at Children’s of Alabama and the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Fellows also participate in cerebrovascular and stroke conferences, mentor neurosurgery residents, and have opportunities to conduct research in endovascular neurosurgery.
