The Endourology & Complex Stone Disease Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is an advanced one-year fellowship designed for urologists seeking specialized expertise in minimally invasive surgery and the comprehensive management of urinary stone disease. Conducted through the Department of Urology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the fellowship provides extensive exposure to high-volume endourologic procedures and multidisciplinary patient care. Fellows receive hands-on training in flexible ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), mini-PCNL, ureteral and renal stone management, robotic-assisted upper urinary tract reconstruction, and the treatment of complex stone disease. The curriculum also emphasizes metabolic evaluation and long-term prevention of recurrent nephrolithiasis through dedicated stone clinics. Fellows participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, departmental conferences, journal clubs, resident teaching, and clinical research under the mentorship of experienced faculty. Opportunities are available to engage in outcomes research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly publications. Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for careers in academic urology, tertiary referral centers, and advanced endourology practice.
