Overview

The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is a structured two-year super-specialty training program designed to develop expert endocrinologists with strong clinical and academic foundations. Fellows receive comprehensive training in outpatient and inpatient endocrinology services, with extensive exposure to diabetes management, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal diseases, metabolic bone disorders, and lipid abnormalities. The program emphasizes evidence-based patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuity of care across diverse patient populations. Fellows actively participate in specialized clinics, inpatient consult services, and academic conferences, gaining expertise in diagnostic evaluation and long-term management of complex endocrine conditions. The curriculum integrates clinical research opportunities, teaching responsibilities, and quality improvement initiatives. Training is conducted at major teaching hospitals affiliated with OU Health, ensuring exposure to tertiary and quaternary care settings. Graduates are well-prepared for American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and for careers in academic medicine, advanced clinical practice, or research.
