Fellowship in Emergency Medicine Clinical and Translation Science Research

1. Must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency.
2. Must be Board-eligible.
3. Must have passed all 3 steps of the USMLE.
4. Must be eligible for a full Massachusetts medical license.

This two-year fellowship develops advanced clinical research skills for emergency physicians. Fellows pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) while receiving individual mentoring and group supervision. Training includes clinical practice as a junior attending, participation in research projects, research seminars and workshops, completion of an independent MSCI thesis, conference presentations, and additional research training. The MSCI curriculum emphasizes study design, observational and randomized studies, clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, and scientific communication. Fellows also work 600 clinical hours per year as attending physicians in the Emergency Department.
