The Fellowship in Emergency Medical Services & Disaster Medicine at UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco is an ACGME-accredited fellowship program designed for Emergency Medicine physicians seeking advanced training in EMS systems, disaster preparedness, prehospital care, medical direction, administration, research, and education. The program provides comprehensive experience in EMS operations, including emergency response planning, EMS quality improvement, disaster management, mass casualty preparedness, and prehospital clinical care. Fellows participate in clinical duties at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), a Level 1 Trauma Center, provide EMS medical direction, work with regional EMS agencies, conduct research projects, and teach medical students, residents, and prehospital providers. The fellowship prepares graduates for careers in academic EMS, EMS medical direction, disaster response leadership, and emergency healthcare system management.
