Fellowship in Emergency Medical Services

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship providing advanced training in EMS medical direction, operations, administration, education and emergency medicine. Fellows gain experience through EMS ride-alongs, dispatch-center quality improvement, air medical operations, large-event planning, base-station review and EMS education. The program also includes a core curriculum, research project, Emergency Medicine board certification preparation and Emergency Department clinical shifts. Training is conducted in collaboration with multiple 911-EMS agencies, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, with clinical exposure at Los Angeles General Medical Center and its major trauma and EMS base-station services.

1. Prepare a current CV.
2. Submit 3 letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant's career trajectory.
3. Submit a personal statement describing interest in EMS medical direction, fellowship goals and five-year career plans.
