Fellowship in Craniofacial Pediatric Plastic Surgery

The Craniofacial Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a 1-year advanced fellowship program designed to provide comprehensive training in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial reconstruction. The program offers extensive clinical exposure to congenital and acquired craniofacial conditions, including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, facial deformities, craniofacial trauma, and complex pediatric reconstructive cases. Fellows work closely with a multidisciplinary craniofacial team consisting of plastic surgeons, craniofacial orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and craniofacial neurosurgeons, gaining expertise in advanced techniques such as nasoalveolar molding (NAM), virtual surgical planning, minimally invasive cranial procedures, and microsurgical reconstruction. The fellowship integrates hands-on surgical training, interdisciplinary clinics, clinical research, academic conferences, and innovative translational research opportunities to develop advanced skills in pediatric craniofacial surgery and prepare fellows for careers in academic and clinical plastic surgery.
