Fellowship in Cardiology

1. Completion of an Internal Medicine residency before entering the General Cardiology Fellowship.
2. Applicants must meet Harbor-UCLA Medical Center's Graduate Medical Education (GME) eligibility and California medical licensing requirements.
3. A Post Graduate Training License (PTL) or Physicians and Surgeons License is required for trainees in California.
4. International Medical Graduates must meet applicable Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) requirements.
5. Applicants must submit the required fellowship application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The General Cardiology Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides three years of comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases. Fellows gain clinical experience in coronary care, cardiology consultation, cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and advanced cardiac imaging. The program also provides exposure to electrophysiology, heart failure, interventional cardiology, and cardiothoracic surgery. Fellows participate in research and elective rotations while developing advanced clinical and procedural skills through progressive responsibility.

1. Complete the General Cardiology Fellowship application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the required application and supporting documents through ERAS.
3. The program reviews submitted applications.
4. Selected applicants are invited for an interview.
5. First-year fellowship positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
6. Selected candidates complete Harbor-UCLA Medical Center's Graduate Medical Education and California medical licensing requirements before beginning training.
7. The General Cardiology Fellowship accepts 5 fellows per year.
