The Breast Pathology Fellowship at UCSF is a 12-month advanced fellowship providing specialized training in diagnostic and research aspects of breast pathology. Fellows receive extensive exposure to breast biopsies and surgical pathology specimens, including complex consultation cases, and gain experience in molecular breast pathology, HER2 FISH interpretation, and targeted DNA sequencing. Training includes participation in multidisciplinary breast tumor boards and radiologic-pathologic correlation conferences, along with dedicated research opportunities, teaching responsibilities, and clinical and translational research projects. The program is designed to prepare fellows for advanced diagnostic practice and academic careers in breast pathology.
