Fellowship in Breast Pathology

The Breast Pathology Fellowship at UCSF is a 12-month advanced fellowship providing specialized training in diagnostic and research aspects of breast pathology. Fellows receive extensive exposure to breast biopsies and surgical pathology specimens, including complex consultation cases, and gain experience in molecular breast pathology, HER2 FISH interpretation, and targeted DNA sequencing. Training includes participation in multidisciplinary breast tumor boards and radiologic-pathologic correlation conferences, along with dedicated research opportunities, teaching responsibilities, and clinical and translational research projects. The program is designed to prepare fellows for advanced diagnostic practice and academic careers in breast pathology.

1. Complete the CAP Standardized Pathology Fellowship Application
2. Prepare an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3. Submit a Personal Statement of Interest
4. Submit a photograph in JPEG or PDF format
5. Arrange for three Letters of Recommendation to be sent directly by the recommenders and/or program coordinator
6. Submit all application materials in PDF format via email to the Fellowship Program Administrator, Thongdam Pathoumthong
7. Applications are reviewed by the UCSF Breast Pathology Fellowship program for selection
