The Body MRI Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a one-year advanced clinical fellowship offered through the Department of Radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, a nationally ranked academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. The fellowship emphasizes comprehensive training in body magnetic resonance imaging while also providing significant experience in computed tomography and ultrasound. Fellows spend the majority of the year interpreting abdominal and pelvic MRI studies, including liver, pancreas, kidney, adrenal, gastrointestinal, rectal, prostate, gynecologic, and transplant imaging. The program offers exposure to cutting-edge imaging technologies such as 3T MRI, MR elastography, diffusion-weighted imaging, PET/MR, prostate MRI fusion imaging, and photon-counting CT. Northwestern performs more than 13,000 abdominal and pelvic MRI examinations and over 2,000 prostate MRI studies annually, providing fellows with exceptionally high clinical volumes. Fellows actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, gastrointestinal oncology conferences, urologic oncology meetings, gynecologic oncology conferences, and weekly body imaging teaching sessions. The fellowship also promotes clinical research, resident education, physician wellness, and academic career development, preparing graduates for leadership positions in academic radiology and private practice.
