Overview
The Body Imaging Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is an advanced one-year subspecialty training program offered through the Division of Abdominal Imaging within the Department of Radiology. The fellowship is designed to develop expertise in abdominal and pelvic imaging with a strong concentration in MRI. Fellows receive training on some of the most advanced imaging technologies available, including 3-Tesla MRI systems, PET/MRI, MR elastography, MR angiography, MR enterography, diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion imaging, and prostate MRI. Clinical training occurs at NYU Langone's Tisch Hospital, NYU Langone Radiology—32nd Street, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. Fellows gain extensive exposure to hepatobiliary imaging, pancreatic imaging, gastrointestinal imaging, oncologic imaging, renal imaging, pelvic MRI, and transplant imaging. The program provides a high-volume clinical environment with significant hands-on experience in image interpretation and protocol optimization. Research is a mandatory component of the fellowship, and fellows are encouraged to present at national conferences and publish in leading radiology journals. Regular participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, abdominal imaging conferences, MRI physics lectures, journal clubs, and academic teaching sessions ensures comprehensive subspecialty training. Graduates are well prepared for leadership roles in academic radiology, tertiary-care hospitals, and advanced private practice settings.
