Fellowship in Addiction Medicine

• MD / DO or equivalent medical degree required
• Minimum 3 years completed residency (GME training)
• Residency from recognized/accredited program (ACGME or equivalent)
• Eligible for medical license in USA (Maryland)
• ECFMG certification mandatory for International (IMG) candidates
• Accepted branches: Internal Medicine / Psychiatry / Family Medicine / Emergency Medicine / Pediatrics
• USMLE (Step 1 & Step 2) required (for most candidates)
• Application through ERAS system
• Required documents: CV + SOP + Letters of Recommendation
• Clinical interest/experience in Addiction Medicine preferred

The Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University is a 1-year ACGME-accredited program focused on the diagnosis and management of substance use disorders. It provides comprehensive training through inpatient and outpatient clinical exposure, including medication-assisted treatment and behavioral therapies. Fellows gain experience managing patients with complex medical and psychiatric co-morbidities while also engaging in research and academic activities. The program prepares physicians for board certification and leadership roles in addiction medicine.
