Overview

The MD Anaesthesiology program at Adesh Medical College & Hospital (Shahbad) is structured to deliver a comprehensive, in-depth training in anaesthesia and related critical care. Over three years, students are exposed to a variety of surgical disciplines in both emergency and elective settings, receiving hands-on experience in general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, labour analgesia, paediatric anaesthesia, and intensive care management. The Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care is well-staffed with experienced faculty, supported by modern equipment like multimodal monitoring, difficult airway devices, ultrasound-guided regional blocks, and well-equipped OTs and ICU units. The trainees also participate in academic activities, seminars, journal clubs, and case discussions, which help sharpen clinical judgment and update knowledge of best practices. Given the hospital’s infrastructure, case-load, and recognition by NMC, plus affiliation with Pt. B. D. Sharma University, the degree is nationally valid and meets regulatory requirements.
