About Course

The UCSF MD Program is a 4-year Doctor of Medicine program based on the Bridges Curriculum, which integrates foundational medical sciences with clinical education, patient care, scientific inquiry, and health systems learning. Students work collaboratively in interprofessional teams while developing clinical, communication, leadership, and research skills. The program prepares graduates for residency and future careers in medicine through progressive clinical experiences and opportunities to advance science and improve healthcare delivery.

Admission Process

Submit the AMCAS application by October 15
UCSF reviews the AMCAS application and invites selected applicants to submit a secondary application
Complete the UCSF secondary application and pay the applicable fee
Submit 3–5 letters of recommendation, including at least 2 from instructors, through AMCAS
Selected applicants are invited for an interview
UCSF conducts interviews and subsequently issues an acceptance, alternate-list decision, or non-selection decision
Accepted applicants complete the required pre-matriculation steps before entering the MD Program.
